Description
Slim tall gas radiator made of sheet steel painted antique gold externally and white inside. The front design has a horizontal emphasis typical of art deco. The two upper bars were chrome plated, but this has rusted badly. Towards the base is a small door, hinged along the lower edge, with a dark orange see-through material. Stamped on the back is "PATENT ' 3/ 473001". This patent number was registered by R & A Main Ltd of the Gothic Works, Falkirk, on 4th October 1937.
The radiator is thought to have been used in the manager's office of the Elland cum Greetland Gas Company in West Yorkshire. The works closed around early 1960s.
A natural gas conversion kit was stored with the radiator, but never used.
