Printing block with two plates showing portraits of the Haworth Brothers.
The portraits of Henry and William Haworth have appeared in numerous Carron Company publications. The first was in the 1953 Carron Cupola Vol. IV No. 2., and then in 1959 in The Story of Carron Company, pages 28 and 29. Sometime in the past, these must have been loaned to the Company to copy, possibly by a member of the Kerr family. Henry Haworth seems to have been painted in oils, whilst William Haworth is represented by a pencil sketch; maybe a self-portrait. Used in "Carron Cupola", April 1959, Vol.X, no.2, page13 where the pictures are described as James Bruce, Explorer and Henry Haworth, Designer and Carver. Left-hand picture is Henry Howarth and is used in "Carron Cupola", April 1953, Vol.IV, no.2, page 4.
