pivot stone

Description
Pivot stone ( 260mm square). Half of a pivot stone split across the centre. The conical hole now lies down one side of the sandstone block with chisel marks along it. The diameter of the hole is 45mm and suggests that it was used for a minor fixture. However, the chisel marks are fresh and show no signs of wear.
