Description
White cotton armband with two elastic bands. Sewn on to the front is a rectangular piece of white cotton with the words "EMERGENCY RELIEF ORGANISATION" printed in black. It has been kept folded in a drawer with official papers relating to rest stations, etc. This was given to Arthur Fair of Larbert (see a1769).
Emergency Relief Organisation. This was the name for most of the post-raid services including rest centres and air raid welfare in Scotland. From December 1940 the various post-raid organisations were brought under the ERO banner and badges issued
