Description
View looking west of the bascule bridge over the Forth and Clyde Canal at Bainsford being removed. The south half has already gone and the north half is raised. Behind it is Lock 5 and the foundry of the Falkirk Iron Company.
The wooden bascule bridge was replaced by a swing bridge for the laying of the tramway.
