Rectangular cast aluminium sign supported on two flat bands with pointed ends for insertion into the ground. The text reads: "CRATAEGUS COCCINEA/ (SCARLET THORN)/ PLANTED BY/ H.R.H. THE PRINCE GEORGE, K.G., G.C.V.O./ ON 18TH JANUARY 1932". It is painted black to leave the lettering and border exposed.
