The tracks ran from the mine processing plant, over the River Avon, to No 3 mine. No 3 was opened in November 1932. Two adits were driven, one as an entrance, the other for ventilation. Unlike No 1 and 2 mines, geological faulting did not prevent it being a productive mine.
