Includes summary of case, which was a dispute over a 25 year lease granted by Mr & Mrs Gillespie of Torbanehill to James Russel & Son in 1850, and then challenged under Action of Declarator by the Gillespies in 1852, alleging that the mineral being extracted was not coal.
