Description
Enamelled medal with silk brocade ribbon in a red case. The ribbon is yellow, red, white, red, white, red and yellow (the white bands being broad). It is suspended from a chevron shaped bar containing three wigwam symbols. The medal itself has a circular central section with the monogram PCR in gold on a red background. Around this is a white circular band with "INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES S U" in gold. Below these is a blue panel bearing the words "TRUTH FORTITUDE/ JUSTICE". The upper part is bordered by an embossed surround bearing images of a lidded eye over a bee skep, wheat sheaf and sword crossed with a flame.
Engraves on the back are the words "PRESENTED TO/ Bro. James McHugh/ DEC. 1921" followed by a hallmark.
