Large electric firelighter with a blue painted body on a steel rod stand in its original box with instructions. There is no plug attached.
Issued by Falkirk Council in the late 1960s to council house tenants for use with anthracite fires that were introduced as part of the clean air acts. Many of the tenants never used the equipment, including the donor.
