mount; cavalry

Description
Fragment of a copper alloy cavalry mount with traces of white and blue enamel.
This item was found to the south of the Roman fort at Castlecary near to the old quarry described in the 1901 excavation report. The quarry may have been a head-reservoir for an aqueduct leading into the south gate of the fort. The finds could therefore relate to a temple, or may have been religious offerings.
