General view of Main Street, Bonnybridge. The street is lined on one side with two and three-storey tenements built of stone with slate roofs. Telegraph poles carrying many lines run along the side of the road. Ogilvie's shop has a pavement display of trays of fruit and vegetables resting on wooden barrels.

John Ogilvie Junior's shop advertises Spratts Bird Seeds, Parrot Food, Patent Puppy Biscuits and Patent Dog Cakes. Ogilvie's was a general store, selling most every day items. Most shops were independent at this time, the Co-op store being the main exception.
