Robert Wilson based his book "The Franco-German War" on newspaper reports about the war. It was published in 1881, seven years after his death, by his father John Wilson and a copy was lodged with the British Library. On the publication of the book John Wilson sent copies to several British and European political and military figures who had been involved in the war.
This copy of the book is a modern print-on-demand version of the book.
