Subject notes
Craigend House was situated about halfway between Maddiston and Standburn. It stood between Craigend Brickworks and Craigend Pit, on the coach road from Maddiston Smiddy, now a track across the corner of Polmont Golf Course. The wagons are probably on a mineral line to the works and pit.

The house was advertised for rent in 1898 with eleven rooms and the usual servants' accommodation. It was later demolished and the site exploited by open-cast mining.
