Sites and Monument Record: Carriden Old Churchyard (SMR 99)

Description
Burial ground to the S of Carriden House, enclosed by low stone wall surmounted by an iron railing, except on the W where the wall is carried up the full height. It is roughly rectangular with a curved SE corner, measuring 50 m E_W by 40 m N_S. The entrance lies in the SW corner and has square, corniced ashlar gatepiers with cast iron gates. It contains numerous 18th century headstones. The old church lay in the N portion of the yard.
