Sites and Monument Record: Mannerston Farmhouse (SMR 152)

Description
The existing house contains the remains of a two-storey later 17th century farmhouse/laird's house. This building was aligned roughly W/E and had a small projecting two-storey projection in the centre. It was built of random rubble with backset margins. The interior includes a fine 17th century plaster ceiling, said to be by the same craftsmen who worked at the Binns. It belonged to the Dalyells of the Binns who had acquired the lands of Mannerston in 1612.
