Site history notes
The manse appears to have been built by a mason called Wardrope for the Heritors of the Parish of Polmont in 1748 to accommodate the sitting minister, Patrick Bennet. After his death his widow claimed the building to have been part of her husband's property and had to be taken to court before she removed in 1785. [Polmont Parish Church records]
New offices, including a pigeon loft, were built in 1787 and the manse declared free.
