Description
The W gable stands to full height, masonry Romanesque, with rows of pulog holes. Bellcote remains with twin corbelled-out arches. Footings of other walls exposed consisting of a nave, chancel and S aisle.

Site history notes
First mentioned in the 6th century in connection with St Serf. In the 8th century Bede refers to the placename. In 1951 excavation recovered an early stone cross from the site, of possibly 9th or 10th century date. The present ruins date to the 12th century and were presented to Holyrood Abbey by Herbert Camerarius, chamberlain. Dedicated to St Catherine.
