Sites and Monument Record: Lochlands 1 Temporary Camp (N) (SMR 338)
Description
Excavation has revealed this camp lying to the NW of Lochlands 3 (the main temporary camp). The S side was shown to have a gate, involving an external "clavicula" and oblique ditch. E, S and W sides are now known, each with a gate. The N side is probably lost. Area: c10.1 ha. The gates suggest that this camp was probably Flavian in date.
