The site was available to feu in 1874, and the brickworks was probably erected shortly afterwards. The brickworks is shown as disused on both the 2nd and 3rd ed OS maps. It appears to have been run by Robert Dougal, but in 1901 he leased the site to Blair & Davidson, and the following year they purchased the site. It was renamed Lochview Foundry in 1905.
