Sites and Monument Record: Dr Finlay Monument (SMR 556)
Description
A small grey granite obelisk bears an inscription dedicated to Dr Finlay. On the side facing the farm are the words "LAUS DEO/ IN MEMORY OF/ JOHN FINLAY,/ SURGEON/ BORN 1793/ DIED DEC 4TH 1845". The Latin can be read as 'Praise to God.'
