Sites and Monument Record: Grangemouth War Memorial (SMR 591)
Description
Situated at the N end of Zetland Park in its own garden at the junction of Dalratho Rd and Park Rd. It consists of a cenotaph 27ft tall surmounted by a large sculptural composition representing the British Lion rending the German eagle. The cenotaph is on a raised platform 60 ft wide. Park gates were included in the scheme and joined to the cenotaph by curving wing walls. Red sandstone.
