Sites and Monument Record: Carronvale axehead (SMR 650)

Description
A socketed bronze axe was found in the grounds of Carronvale House - front garden of South Lodge "two spits down, but ground contains rubbish". The soil in the area is sandy and had recently been woodland. Reported by Mr Mackie the caretaker of Carronvale per a press reporter. It is now in Falkirk Museum. 1972-50-1.
