Site history notes
The Dunipace Parish records of 1728 mention the New Miln of Denovan. This is likely to be that known as Planting Mill. In 1813 this was occupied by John Hay. Grassom shows it set amongst trees on his map in 1817, and "planting" here means "plantation". It also appears on the 1st ed OS as a corn mill, with a lint mill in close proximity. In subsequent editions the lint mill is removed but the corn mill contunues into the 1920s.
