Sites and Monument Record: Tophill Stables (SMR 962)
Description
These consisted of a single-storey courtyard with buildings on 3 sides and a gateway on the north facing the lock, flanked by asymmetrical gables with chimneyheads. Rubble-built with dressed margins. Gateway checked for gates, slated. The court frontages were largely of timber with some brickwork. Now demolished.
