Description
The site now lies within the car park to the east of the Howgate Centre.
The 1825 structure was quite substantial. It measured c 25 x 17 ft, being the size of the feu. It was rectangular, 2-storey, with a moulded crow-stepped gable to the N and S. The ground floor had horizontal rustication, with a projecting string course dividing it from the plain upper storey. Double steps on the N gable led to a 1st floor doorway, centrally placed, surmounted by an arched panel bearing the date 1825.
