Site history notes
Erected in 1878 on the site of the Corn Exchange. The components of the corn exchange, such as the iron roof and timbers, were sold at auction. The committee of Feuars for the building project consisted of WH Burns, preses, William Sword, James Neilson, Borthwick Watson, Oliver Rintoul, John Lithgow and Thomas Cochrane. Alexander Black architect; Howie & Dalziel builders of Falkirk; Mathew McLintoch joiner form Slamannan.
Clock inserted into top in the 1890s as a gift of Hugh Macpherson.
