Sites and Monument Record: Slamannan Primary School (SMR 1103)

Description
This large rambling school consists of three main elements. The oldest block fronts the road. It is built of random rubble and has projecting wings. A central porch was removed in 1932. Behind this is a quadrangle with a large hall along its south side. Large extensions in the 1960s project out to the north west.

In 1873 the Slamannan School Board built the present building to replace two small inadequate structures.
It opened in 1876. The Slamannan School Board were replaced by Stirlingshire County Council, who in turn made way in 1975 to Central Region, and in 1996 to Falkirk Council.
