Site history notes
First sod ceremonially cut on 9 June 2006 by the 11th Earl of Elgin & 15th Earl of Kincardine. He had been present, as a 7 year old, when the same ceremony took place on the first bridge and used the same spade. £120m project.
Legs built in the Forth and the bridge surface on land, to be slid into place later from the north end. Stirling-based Morgan Est & Vinci Construction had the contract for the bridge and 6.4km of approach roads. Opened 2008 and renamed the Clackmannanshire Bridge.
