Site history notes
The mansion house is shown on the plan of the lands belonging to William Glen of Forganhall dated to 1788. The house and grounds are orientated on the line of the Forth & Clyde Canal. To the north were the gardens and to the south a formal approach with a well and drive.
A stable/ office complex lay to the SW. Originally there were two long parallel buildings aligned W/E, but by 1860 these had been joined into a couryard arrangment. A doocot lay to the east.
The house was substantial, with 3 public rooms and 8 bedrooms in 1884.
