View of a mounted soldier riding along Stirling Street. He has a bugle over his arm. He is passing a shop whose sign reads 'R Andrew. Established 1874. Watchmaker Jeweller Hardware Furniture and Bedding Warehouse and Optician and Fancy Goods'. The next shop is a clothier and milliner.

There was an army camp at Broads Farm about 3 miles out of Denny towards Stirling. A Territorial Army camp had been set up on this site before the outbreak of the First World War.

The shop in this photo was demolished in 1974.
