Object detail

Site history notes
The existing loch was extended by the construction of small earth dams on the south and west. Constructed as a feeder reservoir for the Monklands Canal. The water leaves the loch at the SE end and flows along the North Calder Water into Hillend Reservoir at Caldercruix. This is also marked by boundary stones, most of which are still present.
