Sites and Monument Record: Forth reclamation banks (SMR 2097)

Description
Flood banks were erected on the mudflats of the Forth in order to reclaim land. Most of those between South Alloa and the River Carron are 18th century. Those between the Carron and the Avon may be 17th century, as were those at Kinneil Carse. East of Bo'ness they are early 20th century.
