Description
A sheer leg crane sits on the near bank and what appear to be steam pile drivers on the far bank. A steel bridge is in an advanced state of construction. The heads of the rivets used to fasten the steel components together can be seen. Men are working on the bridge.

It was necessary to bridge the burn which separated the site of the new refinery from the Caledonian Railway docks where the unloading jetty was located. The bridge also carried pipelines over the burn. (See other photographs of the bridge.)
