Description
View of a racing car and its driver, who is wearing a leather helmet and goggles, as it climbs a road. The car has two pairs of rear wheels. It is passing an opening in a stone wall which has been partly cushioned using sandbags. There is a bing in the background.
Sheila Darbishire driving the ex-Maclure ifs Riley on 17th May 1947 at Bo'ness - the very first round of the RAC
British Championship. She tied for 6th place with Sydney Allard in a time of 40.8 secs. The car was purchased in 1948 by Geoff Richardson. She did not score in any of the other four rounds of that year.
