The street is cobbled with twin tramways and there are three horse-drawn carts, one laden with sacks and another possibly laden with hay. The wide pavement has gas lamp standards, tram gantries and a well. The buildings are mainly one and two-storey, but there is a three-storey one: Oddfellows Hall on the corner with Western Avenue.
