The photograph appears to pre-date Shell's adoption of its familiar logo. It would also appear to be a garage as well as a petrol station.
The NB or North British was one of the five Scottish railway companies that were merged into the LMSR and LNER in 1923. It was a few years later before all rolling stock was repainted. The other wagon would belong to the William Aitken company.
