Subject notes
The lighter appears to be steam powered as there is a funnel at the stern and no sign of a tow rope and horse. Bascule bridges had counter-balancing weights at each end to make the raising of the two halves easier. Camelon and Bainsford bascule bridges were replaced in 1905 by heavier swing bridges to accommodate the new tramway.
