Description
View of the four walls. Annotated on reverse "Latrine viewed from the NW. This view was taken before the channels on the East & South were opened & before the discovery of the Outlet Channel through was & although the North Channel of this latrine has been partially cleared it will be noticed there still remains in situ one of the bevelled stoned on both sides of the channel thus [illustration]. They were at first taken to be fallen or crushed & stones perhaps covering the channel & hence their removal perhaps but I formed the opinion whenever I saw them (right or wrong) that they were purpose laid altho at this time considering they formed part of a drain only.
