The vehicle is a chain-driven Belhaven. Its maximum permitted speed was 12 mph. MS1723 was the second bus of Alexander's fleet, bought in 1916 and seen here with Walter Alexander at the wheel. The vehicle only operated for a year or two, and its registration was transferred to an ex-RAF Leyland. Alexander's operated a regular daily service between Falkirk and Denny.
