Subject notes
The bakery also had a stirring machine, a biscuit rolling machine, a hoist and loaf weighing machine. It earned a reputation for plain, pan, French and Coburg loaves and cakes. The table with its deep grooves would have been difficult to clean and unacceptable today. (A retired baker, b1912, on seeing the image said it was the worst table he had ever seen). No hats were worn.
