Description
Playing cards commissioned by Allied Ironfounders Ltd. to advertise the Leisure Range for kitchens. Normal playing cards (52 card deck with Jokers still in pack) with standard facings on the cards. On back is image of a fitted kitchen in blue with yellow worktops and the Leisure brand in a black lozenge. Original box with cards.
The leisure range was launched by Allied 1960. Confusingly they had taken over Leisure sinks in 1955 but this appears to have been a wider launch or both cookers and fridges under the name. By 1969 Allied was taken over the Glynwed. Leisure sinks continued and are now part of the Aga Rangemaster group. It is not clear when the Allied version of the brand ceased. Although cooker manufacturers using the name Leisure claim to have been around since the late 1800s so Allied may have been repacking various brands into the 1960s launch.
