bottle stopper (War Grade)

Description
Vulcanite bottle stopper stamped "WAR GRADE". War Grade stoppers were made using less rubber and lower quality materials. They were produced due to the shortage of rubber and a higher demand for it for items like gas masks during the Second World War. They were used on beer and presumably aerated water bottles. These stoppers appear to have been used after the war ended.
