Description
Hand bell with wooden handle and turned brass head. The top of the head is welded to a socket into which the handle slots and is fixed with two small nails. This collar has split and has been bound with twine. There is a hole in the weld. The outside rim of the bell is inscribed "AIRTH SUBSCRIPTION BELL/ 1832". It was reputedly used by the town crier and was latterly used at the Airth Highland Games.
