Subject notes
The tanker was carrying 5500 tons of crude oil from the Middle East. She belonged to the British Tanker Company, a subsidiary of Anglo-Iranian Oil, later BP. The use of Middle East oil was investigated at Uphall Refinery, West Lothian, using crude oil piped from Grangemouth.
