View with man on original wooden bascule bridge over canal at Bainsford in front of premises of Stevenson, Wine & Spirit Merchant (Red Lion Inn). The elegant street light is electric, installed in association with the opening of the Falkirk Power Station in 1903. The gas lights are still in place as the electric one would have no power supply in 1902.
