View of a blacksmith / farrier working on the hoof on a hind foot of a horse. Another man, probably a co-worker, is holding the horse by a rope attached to its head collar. Cart wheels lie about the yard. The smiddy is built of rubble stone with a pantile roof.

There were three smiddies in Avonbridge. This one was located behind Bridge Street. The post card was printed by Robert Forrester who had a shop in Avonbridge.
