Description
A workman in a bunnet fits the cap on a pole watched by a man in a boater. The men are on a tower scaffold which sits on a horse-drawn cart. A man is holding the horse's head but the cart wheels are not chocked. A fourth man is working with some equipment on the road. Album caption reads: "Preparing to fit the overhead wires for the Tramway Co. Year 1904"

This tower wagon was used to erect, inspect and repair the overhead wires. It was raised and lowered using the winch on the cart. Today the way of working would be deemed unsafe on a number of counts.
