Description
View of a through line with a passenger train at the platform. A line of wagons in a siding extends into a shed. A wagon is being loaded or unloaded into a horse drawn cart. In the distance is the hotel and to the right a sandstone terrace. Text on print reads: "Bonnybridge Central Station. At this time, about 1910, Bonnybridge was well served by railways. As well as the Central Station, there was also the Canal Station, near Smith and Wellstood's Bonnybridge Foundry. The Royal Hotel on the High Street can be seen behind the station in this picture. Loaned by Mr Buchanan, Bonnybridge".

Bonnybridge Central Station was on the line to Kilsyth which ran for 14 kilometres, parallel to the Forth and Clyde Canal and the main Edinburgh Glasgow railway. The Royal Hotel was rebuilt in the style shown in 1897.
