The house is Wheatlands, home of the Ure family. George R Ure (1820 - 1910) started at Carron Company as an apprentice grate-fitter at age 12. He studied in his own time, later opening the Columbian Stove Works, eventually becoming a managing partner in Smith and Wellstood.
